Our “What’s Up?” Blog

This blog “What’s Up?” is named after the Citizenship Project ritual of sharing up-to-the-minute reflections at the start of every meeting. Read on to learn what we’re thinking about and follow the evolution of our programs and research. Thanks for listening!

I ran across this passage from William James this weekend, when I was looking through a book of Dorothy Day’s favorite quotes.  I reminds me so much of the way we see relationships in our citizenship work:  “I am done with great things and big things, great institutions and big success, and I am for those tiny invisible molecular moral forces that work from individual to individual, creeping through the crannies of the world like so many rootlets, or like the capillary oozing of water, yet which, if you give them time, will rend the hardest monuments of man’s pride.”
